Nine Months of Yunus Rule Plunder of the State, Sale of Sovereignty, and Ruin of the People

The so-called Yunus regime, which began on August 5, 2024, has become one of the darkest chapters in the country’s history. In just nine months, Tk 900 billion has been looted from the stock market, Tk 250 billion has been laundered, and the revenue shortfall has reached Tk 700 billion. Foreign investment has fallen to a historic low—overall, the economy is on its deathbed.

But it’s not just economic looting—national security and sovereignty are also under dire threat. Under the guise of Myanmar’s “corridor” project, a U.S. military base has effectively been established on Bangladeshi soil. St. Martin’s Island has been virtually handed over to foreign hands. In the Chittagong Hill Tracts, army camps are being withdrawn, leaving space for terrorist groups and the Arakan Army.

An additional 150,000 Rohingya have entered the country, further straining population balance and national security. There’s no electricity, prices are out of control, and millions are unemployed. With silent approval from the administration, fundamentalist and extremist havens are taking root.

In these nine months, development has come to a halt, the people have been devastated, and the state structure is collapsing. The question arises—is this the “foreign-backed shadow rule” where the voices of the people are silenced and the country is quietly being sold off?

The people of Bengal demand answers. The nation wants an end to this rule. Now is the time to rise.
