Three brigadiers from the Pakistan Army have arrived in Dhaka. Their destination is the headquarters of the 10th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army, located in Ramu, Cox’s Bazar.
Senior Bangladeshi military officials have expressed concern over the visit to the Ramu cantonment, as the location has recently been identified as a base supporting the Arakan Army.
At 5:27 PM on Saturday, Emirates Flight No. 586 landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Among the passengers were three neatly dressed individuals who boarded a bus alongside other travelers and proceeded toward the immigration and security checkpoints inside the airport terminal.
Their passports, reportedly issued in the names of personnel from the Pakistan Army’s Medical Corps, were stamped without any issues at immigration. They were then received by Pakistani diplomats posted in Dhaka and Bangladeshi officials, and promptly departed the airport in a staff car.
The three Pakistani officers are:
• Brigadier General Nadeem Ahmed
• Brigadier General Muhammad Talha
• Brigadier General Saud Ahmed Rao
They are visiting Bangladesh at the invitation of the Bangladesh Army. Upon arrival in Dhaka, they checked in to the Radisson Blu Hotel.
According to travel documents and other papers obtained by Bangladesh Inside, Brigadier Nadeem Ahmed’s passport was issued on April 30, 2025, Brigadier Talha’s on May 26, and Brigadier Saud’s on May 29.
All three passports are new, machine-readable, and show no prior visa stamps or markings. Each passport has a one-year validity and is presumed to have been issued for special purposes. Most significantly, all three officers are scheduled to visit the Bangladesh Army’s 10th Infantry Division headquarters at Ramu cantonment in Cox’s Bazar.
A retired Major General of the Bangladesh Army remarked, “They are undoubtedly on a covert mission — otherwise, why such a sudden visit to the Ramu cantonment?”
It is worth noting that since April this year, the Ramu cantonment has been transformed into a highly sensitive military zone. It is now considered the central hub from where Bangladesh is possibly providing logistical and operational support to the Arakan Army.
Sources have revealed that before returning to Pakistan via Dubai on July 5, the Pakistani officers will hold meetings with senior officials of the Bangladesh Army. These will include personnel from the Directorate of Medical Services, the Adjutant General’s Office, and other units.
