The Delusion of Power, the Shameless Propaganda of a Fictional Government, and a Diplomatic Embarrassment on the Global Stage
Dr. Muhammad Yunus’s visit to the United Kingdom is no longer merely a state trip—it has devolved into a farcical, shameful, and contradictory performance, in which he plays the producer, director, and lead actor. This so-called visit is an embarrassing attempt to gain international legitimacy as the head of an unelected, unconstitutional regime. But the British government, the royal family, and international media have completely dismissed this charade. Instead, by ignoring this irrelevant and unacceptable leadership, they’ve reaffirmed their alignment with the people of Bangladesh.
The Lie About a Meeting with the UK Prime Minister: The Press Secretary’s Brazen Deception
Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the Chief Advisor, was caught red-handed spreading falsehoods. He claimed that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer was in Canada, and therefore couldn’t meet with Yunus. But the truth? Starmer was very much in London at that time—holding meetings at Downing Street, speaking with the Norwegian Prime Minister by phone, and announcing a billion-pound investment in public services.
In other words, the British Prime Minister deliberately avoided Yunus. This wasn’t a snub to Bangladesh—but to Yunus’s illegitimate, unelected regime.
Royal Family and Governmental Cold Shoulder: No One at the Airport
A basic protocol of official state visits is that representatives from the host government or monarchy are present to receive the guest. But when Yunus arrived in London, no British government or royal representative was at the airport. Only a few staff from the Bangladesh High Commission were present.
This was no oversight—it was a deliberate diplomatic slight. The UK has made it clear: they do not recognize Yunus as the legitimate leader of Bangladesh.
Media Coverage Slams Yunus: “Why Should Starmer Meet Him?”
British media outlets published articles openly questioning Yunus’s legitimacy. They described his regime as undemocratic and unelected, noting how it has overseen the resurgence of Islamist extremist groups, suppression of the press, and the destruction of political freedoms.
One article bluntly asked:
“Why would Starmer meet a man who has dismantled democracy in Bangladesh and imposed authoritarian rule?”
Chatham House Theatre: A State Visit or a Personal PR Campaign?
There were no formal government meetings during Yunus’s entire trip. His itinerary included speeches at think tanks like Chatham House, receiving awards, and attending a dinner at St. James’s Palace hosted by King Charles.
But here’s the truth: that dinner wasn’t held in Yunus’s honor. It was the annual event of The King’s Foundation, attended by over a hundred guests.
Yet Yunus’s team shamelessly tried to pass this off as a “state visit success.”
The Real Mission Behind Yunus’s Trip: Political Deception
Yunus’s London visit had nothing to do with statecraft. Its actual objectives were:
➤ To present himself as the “de facto” leader of Bangladesh — despite lacking any public mandate.
➤ To strike a secret deal with Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the BNP, possibly to delay elections or negotiate a power-sharing arrangement.
➤ To delay elections until April 2026, so that his interim government can entrench itself as a permanent one.
The British Message: Yunus Will Not Be Recognized
The United Kingdom has sent a clear diplomatic signal: they will not support Yunus’s unelected regime.
Neither King Charles nor PM Starmer offered him state honors.
The British media has already labeled him a “power usurper.”
Bangladeshi Diaspora Protest: Exposing Yunus’s Mask
Yunus faced protests in London because the diaspora understands what he’s doing: destroying democracy at home, colluding with Islamist forces, and then flying abroad to pose as “Bangladesh’s savior.”
The truth is out. The mask has slipped.
The Final Act of a Fictional Government
Yunus’s failed UK tour has proven beyond doubt: his government lacks all international credibility.
The Prime Minister, the King, and senior British officials have all ignored him.
The people of Bangladesh, political parties, and the international community are now simply waiting for this undemocratic game to end.
The time is coming when Yunus and his allies will be held accountable for every crime and conspiracy.
