The two chief organisers of the Interim Govt-backed Nat’l Citizens Party (#NCP) posted identical posts last night on their verified Facebook profiles talking about “safeguarding” Bangladesh’s nat’l security and sovereignty as soon as news started coming in about India’s missile strikes on terror infrastructures inside Pakistan.
Question is how are these strikes relevant to Bangladesh’s national security and sovereignty? Do they think that Bangladesh is still East Pakistan? Or, the infrastructures targeted are part of Bangladesh’s territory? Or have their bonhomie with Pakistan post-August 2024 blurred the lines between Bangladeshi and Pakistani interests?
The same jokers however, have remained conspicuously silent as regards actually endangering Bangladesh’s sovereignty and nat’l security by dealing with the rebel #ArakanArmy in #Rakhine or providing so-called “humanitarian corridor” to #Myanmar, or making the St. Martin’s Island a “no-man’s land” for mysterious reasons, or giving control of the country’s most important port to foreign entities.
